Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.

My name is Saira Lopes and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Massachusetts. I earned my Masters in Social Work from Boston College and have over 10 years of experience working with individuals, young adults, adults, couples, and families.

As a clinical social worker, my specialties include supporting my clients through anxiety, depression, trauma, relational conflict and low self-esteem.  I have a client-centered, strength-based approach when working with my clients. I believe that you are the expert of your life and my main role is to equip you with the tools you need to help you navigate life with confidence and clarity.

My treatment modality is holistic and eclectic however, I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness strategies to support my clients in reaching their therapeutic goals. I believe in incorporating different therapeutic approaches to create a custom fit based on each client's needs.  Life can be difficult but you do not have to figure it out alone. Therapy creates a safe space to explore your lived experience and empower you with skills to challenge difficulties you may be facing.

During my free time, I enjoy working out, watching The Office, creating meals or artwork, and playing with niece and nephews.

Saira speaks Cape Verdean Creole.

Currently Saira sees BCBS, Cigna insured and private pay clients only. Pending Optum/United Healthcare.
