Don’t spend time beating on a wall, hoping to transform it into a door.

Hi! My name is Carmelle. I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker based in Massachusetts. I am also licensed in Rhode Island. I attended Curry College where I obtained my bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Sociology and a concentration in substance abuse and counseling. I completed my master’s in Social Work at Simmons University.

During my career, I have had the opportunity to work with various populations, which has allowed me to be creative and flexible with my therapeutic approaches. My approach with clients is “Do with and cheer on”. I believe in collaborating with clients, being their biggest cheerleader as they achieve their goals, while promoting self-determination. I value open and honest communication. I challenge clients and encourage them to get out of their comfort zone, and to explore their strengths. I believe clients have the skills to succeed. Which is why I utilize motivational interview and strength-based approach during sessions. I am also a believer in solutions, therefore my case management background and knowledge on community resources will aid in educating on available resources if needed.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and best friends. I was born and raised in Haiti; therefore, food and music are a big part of my life. My idea of self-care is changing my hair. One of my favorite quotes is “A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life” by Coco Chanel. To me a new hairstyle is a fresh start. I enjoy attending community events and festivals. It’s a great way to learn about different cultures and to meet new people.

Carmelle speaks French and Haitian Creole.

Currently Carmelle sees private pay and Open Path clients only.
